Aruba

Introduction

Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao are located near Venezuela. Aruba, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands with 81' 500 inhabitants (capital Oranjestad) is an island with a main beach bordered by hotels and casinos. Aruba has a special political status, as since January 1986, the Kingdom of the Netherlands consists of three completely autonomous, constitutionally equal countries: the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles, and Aruba, which has therefore a stronger weight that other islands from Netherlands Antilles including nearby Bonaire and Curacao. Aruba has a dry climate and an arid landscape covered with cactus; it is also located under the Hurricane Belt. Still, for the divers, this island has little interest apart perhaps from wreck diving.

Well located near the sea, with some apartments (with terrace). Unfortunately, no shore diving: it is ESSENTIAL to rent a car...
